Roving Relay Report: The Sights and Sounds of the 2010 Gwinnett Relay

Written by admin under Featured on May 24, 2010

May 7th was a gift of sunshine and warmth that shone on the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds over a community that has worked long and hard to raise funds to eradicate cancer.

Relationships were strengthened across our community as our teams, each in their own way, created a plan to raise funds and awareness. In addition to the many months of work prior to the event, Gwinnett’s Relay teams packed up their dedication, enthusiasm, and creativity and passionately unleashed these attributes for our community’s annual celebration of survivorship.

Because of you, the 2010 Gwinnett Relay was a site to behold, an experience to embrace, and we hope it is one that you will always remember! Please share this video with your friends and family to paint a picture of the culmination of your months of hard work and of your community’s commitment to end a disease that claims too many of our loved ones. On behalf of the American Cancer Society, we would like to express our gratitude to each of you for making the decision to unselfishly give of yourself to make a difference in the lives of others.

Gwinnett has raised over $1.8 million thus far and we have through August 31st to reach our $2.2 million goal! We are proud of our #1 world ranking and will need to continue to work to hold that title as Bakersfield, California’s Relay is close on our heels at $1.7 million! Thank you for showing our community of survivors that they are not alone in their battle.

Gwinnett Relayers—you are THE BEST!
